We’ve camped at Garner many times and have always enjoyed it. With 2.9 miles of Frio River winding through it, guests will have an astonishing range of aqua-based pursuits, including swimming, fishing, tubing, and canoeing.

You can also enjoy watching native wildlife, golfing, picnicking, geocaching, and attend outdoor jukebox dances during the high season. 

In addition, there are 10 miles of trails to explore on foot or bike. We recommend hiking up to the top of Old Baldy, which is the park’s highest point — about 1,850 feet above sea level. It’s a fun hike with lots of great scenery. 

Pro Tip: Be careful if you go on a morning when there’s lots of humidity. Rocky surfaces can be slick. 

There are six camping areas, but if you want full hookups, head to Shady Meadows , which is centrally located. It has picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms, showers, and a nearby playground.
